My name is Gina L. Ruggiero and I am the junior kindergarten teacher here at SVF. I have 16 years of experience in the early childhood field, which includes being a teacher’s aide and assistant director at the Rosary College early childhood center and junior kindergarten and pre-3 teacher at St. Barbara Elementary School in Chicago. I received my undergraduate degree in 1992 and then went on to earn my Master of Science in Early Childhood Education in 1995, both from Rosary College. I have my type 04 teaching certificate for ages birth thru 3rd grade with an endorsement in special education. I have been twice nominated for the Kohl/McCormick Early Childhood Teaching Award.
I am a SVF alumni and life long parishioner. My husband Rich and I have been married for 18 years. When our second daughter was born I took time off from teaching to be at home with our girls. We now have three beautiful daughters. Mia is a freshman at Trinity High School, Elisabeth is in 7th grade and Anna is in 5th grade here at SVF. I am extremely blessed to be teaching here at St. Vincent’s and look forward to a wonderful school year.
